What sets Airfloat
Modular Pontoon Systems apart from the competition
Roto Molding Process,
A recent technology in plastic process, which has received wide acceptance
the world over. With advantages certain to attract both manufacturers and
users, roto-moulding has useful applications in conventional and imaginative
products lines. The option to create one piece, seamless and stress free
plastic products with superior surface finish is here. Products can be
gigantic or small, in every conceivable shapes and of utilitarian and even
exotic nature. Roto-moulding offers a definite production and cost advantage
over other processes.
A simple and unique process, The process is simple in concept:
Heat is used to melt and fuse plastic resin in moulds which rotate in two
axes.
No pressure used unlike other processes.
Actual process in three stages:
 |
Resin loaded in the mould, fitted
on arm head. |
 |
Mould moves into heating chamber.
where resin melts under high temperature and fuses into inner surface of
the moulds. |
 |
Moulds transferred to cooling
stations, where it is cooled gradually by a combination of cool air and
water spray |
Finally, the finished product is
unloaded and fresh material charged.
Unmatched Advantages
 |
Roto-moulding commits itself to
economy, design and production advantages. |
 |
Low capital investment in machine
and moulds. |
 |
Since no pressure used, tooling
cost low and moulds can be light weight. |
 |
Inexpensive modifications of
moulds at prototype stage possible. |
 |
One piece seamless products with
negligible scrape are produced. |
 |
Uniform wall thickness and smooth
surface finishes are achieved. |
 |
Double wall product configuration
can be made. |
 |
Complex outline with excellent
surface definition is possible. |
 |
Metals inserts / handles can be
molded into the product. |
 |
Identical or similar items,
different sections or one part in different colors can be molded in a
single arm simultaneously.
